A “Group of Death” awaits the Philippine national men’s softball team as it gets drawn with world No. 1 Argentina in the Softball World Cup from 26 November to 4 December in New Zealand.

The Philippines gained entry to the biggest stage of men’s softball after a runner-up finish at the 11th Men’s Softball Asian Cup in Japan last September.

Asian champion and No. 2 Japan is in Group B together with No. 3 Canada, No. 4 Australia, No. 9 Venezuela, No. 10 Denmark, and No. 11 South Africa.

The team will play a handful of exhibition matches before departing on 16 November for New Zealand.
