Eala enters first round of W80 Poitiers qualifiers

Alex Eala entered the first qualifying round of the W80 Poitiers in France, trouncing hometown bet Astrid Cirotte, 6-1, 6-2, on 23 October at the Comité Départemental De Tennis De La Vienne.

Eala took one hour and four minutes to defeat Cirotte to advance to the next qualifying round.

The 17-year-old Filipino scholar of the Rafael Nadal Academy last competed in the W60 Hamburg where she was eliminated on 20 October by Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium in the round of 16.

Eala is up against another French bet Diana Martynov, in the second qualifying round of the W80 Poitiers.
