Pinay pair win first Phl medal in figure skating

The skating pair of Isabella Gamez and Aleksandr Korovin gave the Philippines its first medal in international figure skating — a second place finish at the 2022 Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur in France.

Irma Caldara and Riccardo Maglio of Italy emerged on top with 152.27 points, while the French pair of Oxana Voulliamoz and Flavien Giniaux was third place with 143.38 points.

Gamez and Korovin scored a total of 143.54 points for second place.

It secured them a slot in the 2023 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in February 2023, along with fellow Filipinos Sofia Frank and Edrian Paul Celestino.
