Games today:
(Sta. Rosa Sports Complex)
2:30 p.m. — Cignal vs Choco Mucho
5:30 p.m. — F2 Logistics vs Petro Gazz

Streaking F2 Logistics guns for its third straight win when it battles heavyweight squad Petro Gazz in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference today at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

After back-to-back losses to start their campaign, the Cargo Movers have now strung consecutive victories to climb up to a share of the fourth spot with Choco Mucho with a 2-2 win-loss record as the race for the last three semifinals seat in this import-laden tournament heats up.

The Cargo Movers, however, are sure to face a tough challenge against the Angels in their 5:30 p.m. encounter following the curtain-raiser between Cignal and The Flying Titans.

Top hitter Kalei Mau remains doubtful after missing F2 Logistics’ 25-19, 25-22, 25-20 drubbing of PLDT last Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury.

Mau, who is averaging 14.3 points per game, played only two sets in the Cargo Movers’ sweep of Army last week after suffering cramps in the second set.

“Of course, we have to be ready. There are some situations we cannot control. Whatever happens, we have to be ready, and the other players also are ready to step up,” F2 Logistics head coach Benson Bocboc said.

Kim Kianna Dy, Aby Marano, Shola Alvarez and Ivy Lacsina, who stepped up in the absence of Mau, are again expected to deliver the numbers to help workhorse American import Lindsay Stalzer, who is averaging 23 points per outing.

The well-rested Petro Gazz, meanwhile, is fresh from a 25-13, 25-14, 25-20, win over Akari last week for a 2-1 card at the solo third spot behind semis-bound Chery Tiggo (5-0) and second running Creamline (4-0).

“Against F2 Logistics, we need to double our effort. Fortunately, we had a long time to prepare aside from a good rest. Hopefully, we can carry the momentum of our last win in this game,” Angels head coach Rald Ricafort said.

Petro Gazz will pin its hopes on the high-scoring trio of American Lindsey Vander Weide, MJ Phillips and Myla Pablo to snatch its second win in a row.

Meanwhile, the HD Spikers and Flying Titans look to get back on the winning track.

Cignal is on a two-game skid for a 1-2 mark at the seventh spot while Choco Mucho suffered a 27-29, 25-28, 16-25, 20-25, loss to the Crossovers last Tuesday.
