UAAP men’s basketball, women’s badminton games postponed

SOCIAL MEDIA

Due to inclement weather caused by severe tropical storm “Paeng”, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines has announced the postponement of the afternoon games for both the men’s basketball and women’s badminton tournaments scheduled Saturday, 29 October.

“Upon clearing with the UAAP President, we are constrained to cancel the afternoon games for both the men’s basketball and women’s badminton tournaments due to the hoisting of Signal No. 3 over Metro Manila due to Typhoon Paeng,” the league statement read.

Under Signal No. 3 all collegiate activities under the Commission on Higher Education, including varsity events like the UAAP, are automatically suspended.

The suspended De La Salle University-University of Santo Tomas and Adamson University-Ateneo de Manila University matches in men’s basketball at the Smart Araneta Coliseum will be rescheduled at a later date.

Women’s badminton games between defending champion Ateneo and UST as well as the Adamson-UP and La Salle-National University pairings are, likewise, moved to a new schedule.
