Pagunsan gets share of 20th

Juvic Pagunsan bucked a three-putt bogey with three birdies to salvage a two-under-par 70 in the third round of the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2022 at the Phoenix Country Club in Miyazaki, Japan Saturday.

The 44-year-old Filipino moved to a tie for 20th spot on 5-under 208.

He reached the turn on 2-under after birdies on 7 and 8. He picked up another birdie on 13 before that three putts on 16.

Pagunsan is tied with Japanese Ryuichi Oiwa, Eric Sugimoto, Tatsuya Kodai and Mikiya Akutsu.

Japanese Kazuki Higa seized the lead with a second-straight 65 to improve to 14-under, two shots ahead of Mito Pereira, Tomoharu Otsuki and Taihei Sato.

Alone in fifth on 10-under was Japanese Taisei Shimizu.

Korean Tom Kim and Japanese Yuto Katsuragawa, who played in the Philippines as amateurs, were tied on 9-under following a 70 and 66, respectively. Also on 9-under was Japanese Satoshi Kodaira.

Tied on 8-under were Scott Vincent and Mikumu Horikawa who carded identical 69s.
