CJHH paces Fil-A division

Action in the premier senior championship divisions get going on Sunday with defending champion and many-time winner Luisita expected to clash for the Fil championship crown.

BAGUIO CITY — Camp John Hay Hotels grabbed the early lead in the senior Fil-A division of the 72nd Fil-Am Men’s Invitational golf team championships in Baguio City Saturday.

Playing at the John Hay golf course, CJHH assembled 106 points with Ramon Luis Garcia scoring 29 points. Federico Mandapat shot 27 while Shean Bedi and Ronald Samaniego each contributed 25.

Hotel Bahia was four points behind with 102 with Robros-JV Golf Team 1 in far third with 93.

In other completed scores, MCG-Mimosa led senior Am-B with 81 while Baguio Country Club paced senior Am-C with 73 points.

Two regular divisions were also played on the opening day.

Nueva Ecija Travelers surged on top of Fil-F with 84 while Maharlika Roast Beef was on top of Fil-G with 73.

The two-week event is held in partnership with Baguio Country Club, Camp John Hay Golf Club, The Manor, The Forest Lodge and Le Chef.

The event presenters are 3K Rock Engineering and Construction Corp., Toyota, Boysen and Columbia Sportswear.

The major sponsors are Palm Grove, Britanny Corp., and Asiatraders Corp. while minor sponsors are Time Cargo Logistics, Lola Nena’s, K&G, Rudy Project, JTEN Sports Inc., Januarius Holdings, Beer Below Zero and Tee Sports Gear.

Hole-in-one sponsors are Spes Construction Inc., Noah Business Applications and Laus Group of Companies.
