Dottie boosts LPGA bid

Dottie Ardina shot a second-straight 69 and inched closer to earning an LPGA Tour card with one round to go at the Highlands Oaks golf course in Dothan, Alabama Saturday.

The 29-year-old Filipina collected four birdies to improve to 13-under 489, good for a share of 31st place.

She opened with back-to-back birdies and bogeyed 5 to make the turn on 1-under. At the back, she added birdies on 11 and 15.

Bianca Pagdanganan finally put an end to her scoring woes, firing a 68 for 5-under 497, still six shots behind the projected cut.

She needs a superhuman effort in the final round to get into the top 45 and regain her tour card.

Korean Hae Ran Yu stood on top of the leaderboard on 25-under 477 after 66.

Aline Krauter and Isi Gabsa were on identical 479s following a 68 and 72, respectively.

Over in Saudi Arabia, Lloyd Jefferson Go closed with a five-under-par 67 to share eighth place at the close of the PIF Saudi Open at the Riyadh Golf Club.

The 27-year-old Cebu ace knocked in six birdies against one bogey to finish 54 holes on 12-under in a tie with Thais Pisitchai Thippong and Chanat Sakulpolphaisan.

He reached the turn on 3-under after birdies on 4, 5, and 9. He countered a bogey on 13 with three birdies in the last four holes.

Go earned a $4,633.33 paycheck (about P257,000).

Indonesian Naraajie Ramadhanputra won the $200,000 event on 19-under, three shots ahead of Harrison Gilbert.
