Rain or Shine taps ex-NorthPort import Qualls

SOCIAL MEDIA

Former NorthPort import Michael Qualls will play for Rain or Shine in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup — Caloy Garcia, the Elasto Painters’ head of basketball operations, confirmed to Daily Tribune.

Qualls saw action for the Batang Pier in the 2019 Governors’ Cup, averaging 32.1 points and 12.9 rebounds.

Curiously, it was Qualls and the Batang Pier who caused the elimination of Yeng Guiao’s former team, NLEX, in the quarterfinal round of the season-ending tournament in 2019 when NorthPort defeated the twice-to-beat Road Warriors.

Guiao is now the coach of Rain or Shine.
