SAN PEDRO, Laguna — San Pedro continued its winning ways in Liga Laguna Season 3 by pulling off a one-sided 113-88 win over Cavinti to claim solo lead recently at the Chrysanthemum Village Gym.

The Data Force-backed home team banked on MJ Homo and Leo Velasco as San Pedro used its manpower advantage to the hilt in handing Cavinti its fifth loss in six games.

Homo led the way with 17 markers on 8-of-11 shooting from the field while also dishing out six assists.

Velasco added 16 points while San Pedro’s bench also made key contributions in whipping a Cavinti team that played with only seven players.

San Pedro has now moved up on top of the standings at 4-1, this after KDL Calamba edged defending champion Blue Steel San Pablo in a thrilling encounter, 75-74.

John Lester Murillo hit the insurance basket that gave Calamba a 75-71 lead with 34 seconds left, then Dylan Garcia answered back with a triple to shove San Pablo within striking distance in the last 24 seconds.

Both teams, however, came up with big stops at the other end, allowing Calamba to preserve its fourth win in six games, tied with its latest victim and Leyba Trucking Cabuyao, which earlier walloped Macos Meats Nagcarlan, 97-75.

Nikko Aguilar and Rob Panes each scored 18 to lead the way for Cabuyao while big guy Mike Parala wound up with a double-double performance of 11 points and 13 boards.
