Sponsors back Mango Tee

This is the biggest Mango Tee tournament the club has ever seen. We have maintained the golf course and improved it in very good playing condition.

Smart, Petron, San Miguel, and Jewelmer lead a bevy of sponsors in the 35th Mango Tee that gets underway Monday at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa.

The four big companies serve as the event’s presenters.

The week-long festivities kicked off with the ceremonial tee-offs led by Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon who hailed the resumption of the city’s biggest golf event.

“It is significant that for the first time after the years of the pandemic, there is another tournament like this. It’s a tradition here in Muntinlupa,” Biazon said.

“Of course, I’m excited to see non-Muntinlupeños here l. With the easing of the restrictions and the revival of the Mango Tee, this is a gathering of people who matter not only in society but in the economy.”

ACC president Abelardo Villacorta said with this year being the biggest turnout, the ACC did its best to make sure the golf course will be great for the players.

“This is the biggest Mango Tee tournament the club has ever seen. We have maintained the golf course and improved it in very good playing condition,” Villacorta said.

Aside from the presenters, the tournament is also backed by major sponsors The Turf Company, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Philippine Business Bank/Zesto, Merry Mart and Global Ferronickel.

Also supporting the Mango Tee as premium sponsors are Unilab and Jewelmer.

Hole sponsors include Ayala Land, Asian Hospital, Tipsy Pig, Cotecna, Delta Neo/El Jardin, CTBC Bank, Golfers Clubshare, GG&A Clubshare, Alog Company, IQOS, iPrudential, 515 Group, Standard Insurance, Icoon Company;

City Service, Pacsports, Srixon, Golf Depot, Airport House of Wine, Ralphs Wine, 357 Boracay, Omnisource, Prestige Golf Access and Clubshares, Inc., S&R, Mamalous, Bluesmith, Barcino, Fusion Pro, Primea Discovery, Marriot Manila and Courtyard Marriot.

Ed Lacson and Cid Diomampo are the chairman and vice-chairman, respectively of the organizing committee. The other members are Jerry Stehmeier, Boni Pimentel, Junoy Verano, Ed Hernandez, JP Orbeta, Cris Carreon, Jay Bengzon, and King Stehmeier.

Four vehicles will be at stake as hole-in-one prizes — a Mercedes Benz GLB 200 Progressive on the sixth hole, Volvo hybrid on the eighth, Lexus on the 12th, and a Mitsubishi Montero on the 15th.

Other hole-in-one prizes include four golf carts, including a Gransportivo, five motorcycles, four P100,000 cash prizes, one donated by G&W Clubshares, and two business-class tickets for two courtesy of Starlux.

Another two cars — a 2023 Nissan Kicks E-Power VE electric car and a 2022 MG ZS 1.5 Alpha AT — will be raffled off to lucky participants.

Major prizes include business-class tickets for two to Europe and Asia via Starlux, jewelry worth P500,000 from Jewelmer.

Also to be raffled off are a Samsung Bespoke Air Dresser, a pair of Samsung 70-inch UHD television sets, Apple Watch Ultra, Samsung QLED TV set, Breville Barista Express coffee maker, iPAD 10th gen 256GB, and Apple Watch Series 8.

Minor prizes include a two-night stay Discovery Primea, AirPods MagSafe charging case, Kelvinator 4 cu.ft. refrigerator and 100 golf balls.
