5 amateurs earn tour cards

Manotoc closed with a one-under-par
71 to finish fifth on 296.

Gabriel Manotoc led five amateurs who secured spots in the Philippine Golf Tour at the close of the qualifying school at the Splendido Taal Golf and Country Club Friday.

A product of Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, California, Manotoc closed with a one-under-par 71 to finish fifth on 296, seven shots behind top qualifier Hyun Ho Rho of South Korea.

The other amateurs who earned their tour cards were Russell Bautista (81-303), Kristoffer Arevalo (77-307), Leandro Bagtas (80-307), and Jonas Magcalayo (78-307).

Hyun, who carded a 72, led nine other foreign qualifiers
