Games today:
(Philsports Arena)
4 p.m. — Choco Mucho vs Cignal
6:30 p.m. — Petro Gazz vs F2 Logistics

F2 Logistics seeks to gain a share of the lead and move closer to a semifinals seat in a clash against Petro Gazz in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference today at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The showdown begins at 6:30 p.m. following the 4 p.m. battle between Choco Mucho and Cignal.

With Kim Kianna Dy finding her rhythm, the Cargo Movers have scored back-to-back victories for a 4-1 win-loss record in a two-way logjam at second spot and tied with PLDT. Defending champion Creamline is just a win ahead with a 5-1 card.

Dy, who averaged 16.5 points per game in her last two outings, led F2 Logistics in sweeping Cignal, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23, last Saturday.

Aside from Dy, Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego will also rely on seasoned players Aby Marano, Ara Galang, Elaine Kasilag, libero Dawn Macandili and setter Kim Fajardo to step closer to a breakthrough Final Four stint since joining the league last year.

Myla Pablo is also expected to rebound from a disappointing three-point outing last time for F2 Logistics.
“We’re preparing for PetroGazz. But I still want to focus more on the team. We still have a lot to work on, improve on and manage,” Diego said.

“We want to focus on what we need to address on our team and prepare for our next game. And hopefully, everything will work out.”

The Angels, who are coming off a 25-21, 29-31, 21-25, 25-21, 13-15, are in dire need of wins to keep their semis hopes alive.

Petro Gazz sports a 2-2 slate tied with Choco Mucho at fifth to sixth spots.

Head coach Oliver Almadro will bank on Grethcel Soltones, MJ Phillips, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Jonah Sabete to keep the Angels in the thick of the semis race.

Meanwhile, the Flying Titans eye their second win in a row following a five-set escape over Army last week.

At seventh to eighth spots tied with Akari with a 1-4 card, the HD Spikers are already out of the semis picture and will just play spoilers for those still in contention.
Cignal is on a two-game skid.
