Microsmith tames Mighty Warriors

Microsmith displayed a dominant performance to crush Mighty Warriors, 86-39, while Jose Rizal University scored back-to-back wins in the 16-under category of the United Basketball League recently at the Systems Plus Computer College in Caloocan City.

Irus Chua had another sensational performance, firing 25 points, including five three-pointers, while dishing out nine assists for Microsmith, which also got a balanced production from other players.

Guillan Quines chipped in 18 points on top of six rebounds while Kyn Vicente had a double-double performance of 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with seven steals for Microsmith, which reigned supreme in the rebounding department, 54-43.
Also emerging victorious were MBC in the 14-under, SPCC in the 19-under, Manila Braves in the 13-under, JRU in the 21-under, WCA Carabaos in the 19-under, and Philippine Christian University-Wang’s in the 21-under.

Manila Braves proved to be too much against Dauntless J, 82-63, as Mario Gonzalvo came away with a double-double showing of 20 points and 13 boards.

MBC banked on Henry Casimero to nip Passion, 47-44, while Dauntless J outplayed MBC, 70-61, with Khyle Sy coming away with a double-double performance of 17 points and 14 rebounds and Demar Bibar and Justin Dandoy registering 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

Host school SPCC, meanwhile, relied on Joshua Russell and Joshua Vargas, who combined for 39 points in grabbing a 61-60 win over National University Bullpups.

JRU’s under-21 squads scored a twin kill, scoring a tough 69-65 win over Hustle DMC, then completed a walloping 80-54 triumph over Paragon NXT with William Sy leading the way in those double victories.

WCA Carabaos waylaid Madcats, 93-64, with Heven Magtibay at the firing end, scoring 22 points in just 17 minutes of playing time.

PCU completed the day of victors by pulling off a tough 61-55 triumph over WCA Carabaos, as RJ Santiago played an efficient game, hitting 8-of-11 shots from the field to end up with 23 markers.
