Underdogs emerged victorious on Day 2 of MPL PH Season 11 Playoffs after Blacklist International and RSG Slate PH emerged victorious in their respective matches this Friday at SMX Convention Center in Pasay.

Blacklist International was first to defy the odds when it defeated the top seed Bren Esports with an impressive 3-1 score in the best-of-five series and booked a slot in the upper bracket finals.

“It is not our goal to complete what is needed to be completed just to prove something. As I said in the regular season, it is more important to us that we have consistency in competition,” said Blacklist International team captain OhMyV33nus.

The second match occurred between M4 world champion ECHO and MPL Season 9 champion and MSC 2022 champion RSG. After losing the first two games, RSG mustered a reverse sweep to send ECHO crashing to the lower bracket.

“We practiced to have a best-of-five game so our mentality is, we cannot be downed easy,” RSG Slate PH team captain Light said after the match.

“We also did not want to waste our effort of practicing until midnight. We just practiced hard even though we were lacking rest and reviewed games. We played with no regrets and did not play like we were scared.”

The win had set a showdown between Blacklist International and RSG PH in the upper bracket finals while a grueling match also awaits Bren Esports and ECHO in a do-or-die series in the lower bracket tomorrow, Saturday.
