National Basketball Association star Jordan Clarkson and six-time Philippine Basketball Association champion Justin Brownlee will lead the 21-man pool of Gilas Pilipinas that will prepare for the coming FIBA World Cup slated 25 August to 10 September.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas released the list headed by Clarkson and Brownlee, as well as Ange Kouame as all three naturalized players were enlisted to comprise the pool that will start training on Wednesday at the Meralco gym.
Although only one of them can play in the FIBA World Cup unless the International Basketball Federation grants the request of the SBP to allow Brownlee to play alongside Clarkson based on the residency rule, Gilas Pilipinas opted to include all three naturalized players in the pool.
Other players who were included in the pool are Japan B. League players Dwight Ramos, Ray Parks, Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Jordan Heading and Carl Tamayo, Korean Basketball League star Rhenz Abando, and Philippine Basketball Association stars Scottie Thompson, Jamie Malonzo, Japeth, Aguilar, Calvin Oftana, Roger Pogoy, Poy Erram, June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez and Chris Newsome.
Also in the list is NBA hopeful Kai Sotto and the newest addition in the pool, Filipino-Cypriot AJ Edu.
