Valorant professional player and live streamer Hunter “SicK” Mims has apologized for his erratic conduct on social media and unruly behavior over the past few months, stating that he would seek therapy to get better moving forward.
A beloved professional player in the Valorant community and a member of North American powerhouse Sentinels, SicK was arrested last March following an altercation at a car dealership.
He was released 11 days later only to be arrested again last month for trespassing.
“Over the past few weeks, I’m sure you’ve all seen some of my posts on social media. Many of my comments went too far and I apologize for any offensive comments and I will be deleting those posts to address this issue,” SicK announced.
“I’m going to start therapy next week which Sentinels has agreed to pay for and I’m motivated to get help as I seek to redefine my life going forward.”
SicK’s imprisonment last March triggered a series of roster changes to Sentinels’ professional Valorant team.
Though he is still a part of the organization, SicK mainly functions as a content creator for the organization similar to the setup of Jay “Sinatraa” Won and Jared “zombs” Gitlin, who used to play in the main roster.
Eager to be better, SicK sought understanding from the Esports community which was met with overwhelming support from fellow content creators and fans alike.
“This will be a long journey so I anticipate that I will continue to make some missteps, but I appreciate the support as I try to work through all this,” SicK said.
