China’s Wu takes Main Event; ‘Big Time’ Mateo 2nd

China’s Yuanning Wu took down the APPT Manila Main Event over a field of 1,354 entries Sunday night to win a whopping P11.4 million plus a package after a heads-up deal with the Philippines’ Christopher “Big-time” Mateo who pocketed the second prize money of P10 million.

Two other Filipinos made it to the final table — John Tech who finished fourth worth P4.07 million and Archie Mariano who ended up seventh with P1.8 million. South Korea’s Gyuhyuk Lee placed third with P5.5 million.

Also in the top 10 were Nino Pansier of Netherlands Antilles fifth, P3.2 million; Riku Sasahara of Japan 6th, P2.4 million; Thomas Ward of New Zealand 8th, P1.3 million; and Alex Chong Tak Sin of Hong Kong 9th, P1.021 million.
