Garen Diagan is one guy who lets his fists do all the talking.

Ranged against the heavily-favored Puerto Rican Oscar Collazo, Diagan swears he will be ready for whatever the World Boxing Organization minimumweight titlist is going to bring at the Roberto Clemente Stadium in the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan on 26 August.

Attempting to break the monotony of Filipino losses on top of the ring in the last three months, Diagan believes his training at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque will serve him well come fight night.

“I am not the type of boxer who gives out predictions,” he said.

Diagan will be the sixth Filipino who will figure in a world title fight starting in May. The last time a Filipino puncher emerged victorious in a world title fight took place in early-April when Marlon Tapales stunned Murodjon Alhmadaliev in San Antonio, Texas.

Since Tapales’ upset win that gave him two world titles at super-bantamweight, there came losses by Vincent Astrolabio, Melvin Jerusalem, Jade Bornea, Regie Suganob and Nonito Donaire.

Diagan knows the odds are against him but the General Santos City native believes in his ability to pull off another upset.
