Donaire reacquires Filipino citizenship

World boxing champion and “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire Jr. took his Oath of Allegiance at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco before Consul Jed Llona.

Donaire Jr. was accompanied by his wife Rachel and his two sons, who also became dual citizens as his derivatives.

Born in Bohol, Philippines, Donaire acquired US citizenship through his paternal grandfather under the principle of jus sanguinis.
