Defending MPL PH champion ECHO is piling up wins despite not fielding its team captain Yawi following a sweep over Omega Esports on Week 2 Day 1 of MPL Season 12 this Friday evening at Gallery Shooting Studios in Makati.

Composed of KarlTzy, Bennyqt, Sanford, Sanji, and sixth-man Jaypee, ECHO barely broke a sweat in trampling Omega by 2-0. Jaypee, who plays roam while Yawi watches on the sideline, was notable with his Angela and Franco in Games 1 and 2 that both scored a 1/0/9 KDA.

His Franco was especially impressive in Game 2, as his hooks found its target which allowed ECHO to initiate encounters and win team fights. Despite his incredible showing, the rest of the team did their part team too and it was Sanji who got named match MVP thanks to her mastery of Valentina.

Earlier in the day, AP Bren got back to its winning ways after a 2-0 sweep over a still winless ONIC PH. Three-time MPL PH champion Blacklist International, meanwhile, scored a 2-1 win over Minana Evos.
