Undefeated ECHO sweeps Omega Esports

Defending MPL PH champion ECHO is one win away from tying Blacklist International’s record of winning 11 straight games in the regular season following a sweep over Omega Esports on Week 5 Day 1 of MPL Season 12 on Friday evening, 6 October.

Still composed of KarlTzy, Bennyt, Sanford, Sanji, and Jaypee, ECHO trampled the fan-favorite Omega Esports with a 2-0 victory. The win improved their standing to a perfect 10-0 with 27 points and is the first team to qualify for the Playoffs.

“We are happy and thankful to the fans. But we are not done yet, we have to secure the upper bracket,” said ECHO’s gold lander and M4 World Championship MVP Bennyqt.

Earlier in the day, AP Bren gave ONIC PH its second straight defeat via sweep. It was a crucial win for AP Bren as it reclaimed the no.2 spot in the ladder after improving its record to 5-5 with 18 points. Blacklist International, meanwhile, won via sweep over Minana Evos.
