Revenge was sweet for Blacklist International jungler Stephen “Sensui” Castillo after he rallied his team to victory over ONIC PH on Week 5 of Mobile Legends Professional League PH Season 12 this past weekend at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.
Sensui, a former ONIC PH player, was criticized by ONIC’s David “Boss A” Gamboa when they were defeated in the first half of the regular season.
Boss A went as far as saying that the new Blacklist International jungler cannot retri which got him fired from his old team.
In their second meeting, Sensui pulled no punches with his Fredrinn and Akai that combined for a 1/0/14 KDA (kills, death and assists) on their way to a flawless 2-0 victory. It was a good comeback, to say the least, but beating ONIC PH was not even the goal according to Sensui.
“The first time we played was the first time that I played against my former teammates. When I was told that I could not retri, so I gave retri to all four of them. Beating them was not the goal, but to make it to the Playoffs and become a champion,” Sensui stated.
Meanwhile, Tier One Entertainment chief executive officer and Blacklist International co-owner Tryke Gutierrez credited the whole squad for the win.
He revealed that the team has been working hard for months, saying that their coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani was the driving force behind the scenes.
“Personally, I am super proud. I also saw that they deserve it because of the level of preparation they do every day,” Guttierez said.
“I am part of the Facebook group where they scrimm — if only people can see the number of games and they play each one of them like it is MPL.”
“I think the output that we see was because of the preparations that they did for the past months. I remember having a conversation with Master the Basics and he told me that we are going to get even. I think he is showing that this is his redemption arc.”
Before the clash, ONIC PH was sitting at No. 2 but was sent crashing back to earth by ECHO, AP Bren, and Blacklist International with three straight defeats.
