Choco Mucho seized its ninth win in a row after a quick work of winless Gerflor, 25-16, 25-17, 25-11, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Tuesday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The Flying Titans needed only 80 minutes to punch in a 9-1 win-loss record to keep their hold of the second spot.

Sisi Rondina poured in 17 points with 14 coming off kills and added nine digs and seven excellent receptions for Choco Mucho, which already secured a ticket to the semifinals after missing the Final Four in the past four conferences.

Skipper Bea de Leon saw action in all three sets to finish with 13 markers built on six kills, five kill blocks and two aces while Aduke Ogunsanya and Isa Molde got six each in the Flying Titans’ balanced scoring.

“I always tell our players to be ready and continue what we’re doing. Whoever we are up against, always be prepared,” Flying Titans coach Dante Alinsunurin said.

“We had a great performance today. Everyone we fielded delivered, including Bea (De Leon), and she even won Player of the Game,” added Alinsunurin, whose wards will close their elims game against Chery Tiggo on Saturday in Iloilo.

Meanwhile, Farm Fresh downed Galeries Tower, 25-10, 25-18, 24-26, 25-16, for its second win in 10 games.

Trisha Tubu led all scorers with 15 points with all but one coming off kills while Kate Santiago added 12 attacks and two kill blocks to finish with 14 markers and tallied eight excellent receptions for the Foxies.

Alyssa Bertolano and Rizza Cruz chipped in 11 points each as Farm Fresh rained down 55 hits and played solid net defense with 10 kill blocks.

The Highrisers remained winless in nine games just like the Defenders.

No Gerflor player reached double figure scoring with Shang Berte finishing with eight markers.
