Farm Fresh regrouped after a third set collapse to bring down Galeries Tower, 25-10, 25-18, 24-26, 25-16, for its second win in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference yesterday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The duo of Trisha Tubu and Kate Santiago did most of the damage on offense as the Foxies improved to a 2-8 win-loss record with just a game left in their second conference in the pro ranks.
“We did struggle in the third set but we were able to recover in the next,” Santiago said.
Tubu led all scorers with 15 points with all but one coming off kills while Santiago added 12 attacks and two kill blocks to finish with 14 markers and tallied eight excellent receptions for Farm Fresh.
Alyssa Bertolano and Rizza Cruz chipped in 11 points each as the Foxies, rained down 55 hits and played solid net defense with 10 kill blocks.
“This is a big win for us because last conference we went winless but now in the second conference we’re able to get another victory. It’s a great feeling to see the growth of our team. From winning sets to winning games,” Tubu said.
Ace setter Louie Romero dished out 20 excellent sets for Farm Fresh, which will end its campaign this Saturday in Iloilo.
The Highrisers absorbed their ninth loss in as many starts.
Dimdim Pacres and Graze Bombita had 10 points each while Andrea Marzan got nine for Galeries Tower, which gave away 26 free points to Farm Fresh off errors.
