John Hay holds sway at Fil-Am

BAGUIO CITY — With extensive course knowledge of Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club, local bets from the CJHGC swept the FIL and AM A division of the 73rd Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational at the City of Pines Friday.

CJHGC-1 scored 92 for collective 410 points in four days to beat Silicon Valley Golfers Link Team-1 by 27 points while its Am squad pooled in 118 for 385 and a 32-point win over Baguio Blue Blood Seniors at the close of the Seniors’ edition of the Fil Am.

“I’m so proud of the guys. They worked hard for this success. They deserved it,” said CJHGC general manager Jude Eustaquio.

In Fil-B, competition was so tight that four teams contended for the crown. MGC-Mimosa (73-356) prevailed over Baguio Country Club-1 (76-353), Robros JV Golf Team-1 (74-352) and Hotel Bahia (78-349).

Seattle Fil-Am (106-352) took home the plum in Am-B.

The winner in the other senior divisions were Fil-Am Japan 67-322 (Fil-C), Baguio Country Club-2 92-320 (Am-C), Eaglemasters-1 56-289 (Fil-D), Team Na Koa-2 82-277 (Am-D), Pinewoods Kumpadres 54-301 (Fil-E) and FOTC Barakos Am 70-267.

City of Pines (82-296) won in the regular Fil F and Palm Grove (94-303) in Am F.

Meanwhile, Ranie Carlos of Forest Hills Palmer and Harley Palangchao of Team City of Pines also went home as big winners as the latter took home the grand prize of Toyota Raize while the latter received a Vespa S125 motorcycle.
