Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse is raring to strut his wares and lead Blacklist International to the M5 Mobile Legends World Championship title that the country is hosting until 17 December.

After a runner-up finish at the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 12, Blacklist secured a spot in the world championship to seal its third straight appearance in the grandest stage of professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Together with his teammates Stephen “Sensui” Castillo, Edward Jay Dapadap, Kiel “OHEB” Soriano, and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, Renejay trampled RRQ Akira of Brazil in their opening match last Sunday at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.

The team needed just 11 minutes to beat its visiting foes but a gritty RRQ Akira showed a lot of fight in Game 2. Still, the Filipinos prevailed following a nail-biting 28 minutes of action.

Renejay admitted that they committed errors during the game.

“I think they were well disciplined (in Game 2) which was why it took us longer to finish. We also spotted errors on our side,” Renejay said.

Arguably one of the most popular players in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive scene, Renejay is relishing his first-ever world championship experience in the country.

He said it is tough to gauge just how good the opposing teams are but they are nevertheless prepared for what happens moving forward.

“It is exciting for me because I am playing with other teams and we do not even know how strong they really are. We are in tournament mode now and I am excited to show what we have,” Renejay said.

Aside from Blacklist, also representing the Philippines in this prestigious tourney is MPL Season 12 champion AP Bren composed of David “FlapTzy” Canon, Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, Marco “Super Marco” Requintiano, Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo.
