It seems like a lifetime ago that we watched Daniel Weinman defeat Steven Jones heads-up in the record-breaking 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event and become poker’s world champion.

In reality, a little over 200 days have passed since that iconic moment, but 200 days is plenty long enough to sit around waiting for the 2024 WSOP schedule.

The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas will be packed to the rafters from 28 May through 17 July as thousands of poker players descend on Las Vegas, sharing the common goal of returning home with a coveted gold bracelet and a suitcase stuffed with cash.

Those players will have ample opportunities to realize those dreams because the 2024 WSOP schedule boasts a record number of bracelet-awarding events: 99 in total.

Numerous iconic tournaments return for the 2024 WSOP, including the $10,000 Main Event, $50,000 Poker Players Championship, and $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship, but several other events make their debut during the 2024 World Series of Poker, not least the inaugural $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship
No-Limit Hold’em event.

While it might seem tough to top last year’s festivities, the 55th annual WSOP just might do it. Not only does the 2024 schedule include four more events than in 2023, there could be some records broken this summer.

“We’re proud to be Las Vegas’ original Main Event,” said Ty Stewart, SVP and executive director of the WSOP. “Records are made to be broken, so our motto this year is bigger and better. With our best schedule ever and more than 100 additional poker tables, we look forward to welcoming legends, first-timers and everyone in between. If you’re a poker player, there is simply no experience on earth like the World Series of Poker.”

To accommodate demand, there will be 700 poker tables available between the three main tournament rooms in Horseshoe and Paris, the most ever at the WSOP.

At the 2023 WSOP, some 4,303 entrants created a $2,194,530 prize pool. Everyone who reached the final table turned their $600 investment into at least $25,270. Canada’s David Guay was the player who climbed to the top of the pile and became a WSOP champion. His reward? $270,972, a gold WSOP bracelet, and his name etched into the illustrious WSOP record books.

Daily Deepstacks Challenge

There is every chance that the PokerNews Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold’em event will obliterate last year’s turnout, thanks, in part, to the launch of the PokerNews Daily Deepstacks Challenge.

The $200, $250 and $400 Daily Deepstacks are back by popular demand, except there is a significant twist for 2024. From 28 May through 24 June, the WSOP Daily Deepstacks will have a leaderboard that awards $600 tickets to the PokerNews Deepstack Championship event.

The 2024 WSOP is going to start a bit differently than in the past. On 28 May at noon, Event #1: $5,000 Champions Reunion No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout will get the party started. This new and unique gold bracelet event offers a $10,000 Main Event seat bounty to players who knock out past world champions.

At 2 p.m. on the same day, the $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em tournament, normally the opening event, begins. On the following day, Event #3: $500 WSOP Kickoff No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout should attract a large field.

Every tournament is big at the World Series of Poker, but none more so than the Main Event. This year’s world championship of poker, $10,000 to enter, begins 3 July with Day 1a, the first of four Day 1 starting flights.
