Cebu Football Club, led by Golden Boot winner Abou Sy and Surinamese forward Zamoranho Ho-A-Tham, defeated Loyola Football Club 4-0 in their Philippines Football League match at the Dynamic Herb Sports Complex in Cebu Saturday.

Sy, who played for Kaya-Football Club Iloilo last season, netted a brace in the 35th and 48th minutes while Ho-A-Tham had a brace of his own in the 45th and 60th minutes for the Gentle Giants.

Cebu joins opening day winners Manila Diggers, Football Club Mendiola 1991, and Maharlika Taguig Football Club as it kicked off its season on a high note.

At the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, Mohebizadeh Seyedsajad netted a hattrick in Mendiola’s 7-0 win over the Philippine Air Force Football Club.

Seyedsajad led the barrage after he converted his goals in the 43rd, 65th, and 82nd minutes.

Amir Aninglan, Hajimahdi Hamed, Hiromasa Ishikawa, and DJohn Pusing scored a goal each for Mendiola.

Meanwhile, Maharlika eked out a 3—2 win over Tuloy FC to cap off the match day.

Cyrelle Saut broke the 2-2 deadlock in the 70th minute as Tuloy went all the way for the win.
